Voytek is about to wrestle this guy with a chain

Voytek is about to wrestle this guy with a chain

Wojtek (the smiling warrior) was a brown bear imported from Russia to Iran in 1940 by some child who decided to trade him to a bunch of chaps from the 22nd artillery battalion of the free Polish armed forces in exchange for a slice of bread.  The bear was still an infant at the time, and the boy had no idea what to do with him, so he simply traded him for something worth more (and tastier). The 22nd artillery was primarily made up of polish men whom fled their ruined country and joined the allies in their struggle against Germany and her allies. Since the primary language was polish, they named the bear Wojtek which means smiling warrior. After just one year, Wojtek was given a military outfit, and enlisted in the Polish liberation army. This very first year, Wojtek caught an Arab spy working for the grand mufti and mauled him until he shat his pants and surrendered. Later that year, Wojtek was moved to Egypt where the English “did not allow animals” so, Wojtek was enlisted as a private (fittingly). In 1943, he went with his division on the invasion to Italy. Wojtak helped not only boost morale on his side, but he carried rounds of ammunition with his own two paws without ever dropping one (and without human assistance). He was also noted to have wrestled a machine gunner to death. And thats not where it all ended, Wojtek would take out a cigarette and start casually smoking it like any other man, he would even pop a good bottle of beer with the lads and celebrate after a victory. Then in 1945 after Europe was freer, Wojtek retired at a zoo in England. There he live until he died at age 22. But the men of the II Polish corp never forgot how he would smoke , drink , sleep in their tents and wrestle naked with them (hehe).

In 2012, there is now an option to vote on a proposed memorial for Wokitek . This will be placed in the center of Warsaw to honor a true WWII hero. If you live in Poland, sign the petition and be proud of your warrior bear!

Nigerian Piracy Problem Escalates

Monday, May 21st, 2012

Attacks by pirates in the east African portion of the Atlantic ocean have escalated. The aim of the Nigerian pirates as opposed to Somali and south Asian pirates is the seizure of the vessel. The pirates seem to be interested in nothing but the capturing of the ship and kidnapping of the crew with the intent to either kill them or trade them for cash. The European consul of naval safety predicts that unless escorts are sent, the problem will only increase. Note: these attacks go unreported by the press.

How can you get thousands of likes on facebook, thousands of followers on twitter and hundreds of thousands of followers on digg and stumbleupon?

Sunday, May 20th, 2012

If you are reading this, you probably have a genuine interest in increasing your social media possy.  Well quite frankly, there is a way to do it! And guess what? You will be buying every like and follower! Doesn’t that sound promising? Well there is a website called ex4.me . The way it operates is quite simple: there is a point system. Everyone that likes your page or follows you earns one point. You loose one point for every person that follows or like you. You can regain them by either buying them (the easy way) or by liking and following them (the more people you follow on twitter, the better ). So in the end, it becomes a huge chain of like and follow exchanges and you end up looking like you have a solid fanbase :D Not to mention the price of your blog or website increases with every hundred people that talk about it (im talking thousands here). So If your interested in minimum effort, maximum output, you can start now and get 200 points free. If this turns out to be a scam, I will delete this post immediately. Kindest regards.

Somalian Pirates are the least of your worries.

Friday, May 11th, 2012

Its unfortunate ,but, 99% of all pirate attacks go unreported. On a daily basis, 6 attacks will occur somewhere in the world. You of course will never know about it because it does not affect you personally (unless your an unfortunate sailor). From today on understand this: Somalia is not the only country that throws pirate raids at unprotected commerce!

Somalia

Somalia

Nonononononononono! NO! Somalia is responsible for maybe one raid a month. The statistics show that internationally ever four hours, a pirate attack occurs. And no, these attacks don’t involve large war vessels with rear mounted cannons. No, that is simply a glorified Hollywood image. Much rather, the pirate of today is usually much like an Al-queda member. They dress in rags because they simply cant afford decent clothing. And quite unlike the pirates of before, they don’t go out and take a vessel with the intention to “take loot” and leave the crew alive. Much rather, they are VERY desperate to feed their starving families and an unprotected vessel can result in a large loot (comparable to a one year salary in the us) per person. This amount in their country’s would take a lifetime to get. When you are dying of starvation on a daily basis, you do crazy things.

90% of these attacks take place in the Indian ocean. Countries like India, Indonesia and Nepal are responsible for not only failure to regulate renegading (illegal) ships from doing as they please (usually trafficking drugs and firearms), but also selling off information to alleged pirates about merchant ships so they have an exact time frame to strike.  Indeed , corruption and the sheer impossibility to control the world’s second most populated country in the world simply adds to the problem.

This is where numerous sailors are butchered and millions of dollars of cargo are hijacked a day.

This is where numerous sailors are butchered and millions of dollars of cargo are hijacked a day.

Now lets ask ourselves the huge question: Why is this happening?

The answer is very complex. But the primary reason is quite frankly because there is no longer a master sea power. With the bringing of universal self determination following world war 1, the British, French, German and dutch empires seized to exist. This created a power gap in the world’s seas. Now only areas like the Mediterranean , north Atlantic and pacific ocean surrounding japan and northern America was paroled by large navies. Later on, in 1945, the soviet and American navies expanded worldwide and acted as “policemen” for international waters. Following the fall of the soviet union, both navies where cut by up to 80%. Travel in international waters was prohibited and merchant vessels (regardless of size) where now trading billions of dollars of goods unprotected (you probably can see a pattern that coexists here with the fall of the roman navy in the Mediterranean and rise of ivory coast barbarians). These vessels are practically gold mines, with a bit of force, they are EASILY taken. Unarmed crewmen are terrorized, tortured or killed. The unfortunate part is, as long as no real superpower decides to end this madness, the amount of pirate attacks will rise exponentially. We deeply regret to see this and need your help to combat it.

A group of armed men in a compact boat armed with ak47s and RPGs began chasing a Ukrainian oil tanker. The men are reported to have been wearing Islamic headgear. Clearly they intended to attack the ship, but upon seeing men armed with rifles, they fled.

Is the chicken egg vegetarian?

This thing is one of the main ingredient in veggie burgers and tofu

It has puzzled vegetarians for ages. Are chicken eggs safe to eat? Is it OK to eat them even though they came from an animal that has been caged and tortured with the intent to produce the valuable egg just to feed humans. Does that make us parasites? Is it logical to assume that without human intervention there would be more chickens in the world? Is eating chicken eggs destroying the chicken population? Well the answer is quite simply mixed. It is very true that a hen will lay 2-6 unfertilized eggs a month. Unlike humans that have their period once a month, chickens have it many more times. The difference between a chicken and a human is that a human egg is microscopic. So technically the average chicken egg is a byproduct of a chicken’s natural anatomy. The huge no comes with how the chickens are treated. At birth the chickens are sexed (sorted by sex). Then, the males are usually killed off and the females are sorted into housing units where they produce eggs. The eggs are collected and end up in your local food store on a daily basis. Prized male chicks are kept to produce more hens. So now you can see how cruel and disturbing the process is. These hens live to serve man and are born and die in the incubated housing units. Its practically a chicken concentration camp; the weak die just to supply you with your daily omelet you sick bastards.
