Ok, the problem is that when the program is run, your BIOS is temporarily configured improperly. Start off by restarting your computer to get all the program extensions to work again. This will solve your second concern.
For your first concern turn off your laptop. Turn it back on, now hold f2 or f8 as the computer starts. If your computer is using an "fn" key, hold fn+f2 or f8 (
these are different in each system)
When you hold them a screen will pop up, this will not load your windows os. Click through it, and go to your general settings. You will notice that they are currently different. Simply toggle it to "factory settings". Save this and restart your laptop.
