James Paulman, a vibrant father of three, was seriously injured in a recent motorcycle accident. His injuries indicate that he will not survive without life support, and that he will never recover. He has a wife and three children, ages 5.8 and 12. They are devastated by his accident and impending death, and attempting to understand what happened. Psychologists say that a wake is one of the most important factors in having family begin the journey of acceptance.

There is a young man, also a young father,,who has waited for a heart transplant for two years. He lives in a remote area in Alaska. It will actually take 10 days to transport the heart that he needs so desperately.

Should the first father be placed on life support for several days to harvest his heart?
