--A bit of background--
Now, as I see it, dreams are usually the expression of concern and emotion people try to hide. For example, the really nasty dreams people experience are probably brought on by guilt, which is natural because guilt causes us to worry, and stress effects our bodies in severe ways (ie aging, metabolism, heart-health, liver health etc).
Then, we have the types of dreams with unexplainable points, such as the ones where you are running down some hallway, all white and stuff with flickering light bulbs. There is someone chasing you, perhaps it is symbolic of a fear you have. That person, usually without a clear face (blurred) will continue to follow you down the endless corridor. At your sides, there may be doors, all of which are locked. This represents blocked passages, (ie you cant open the doors because your conscious wont allow you. This would be symbolic of your cowardliness to apprehend a problem such as your unwillingness to step on a plane if you fear flying (you have closed these doors with your own will).
Then you have the fantasy dreams, such as the only dream of mine I ever remember where I was stuck in a room of cats. It wasn't quite a room, really it was more of an endless white chamber full of cats, all breeds, shapes, sizes, fur textures and so on. At he gate there were two winged white lions. I still don't understand why I cant forget this, I don't sleep much at all but this dream felt very real to me, and satisfying.
--Moving on--
So now my thoughts are quite simple, I believe that in the midst of dreaming, you consciously or unconsciously are in control of whatever happens. You will can sometimes cause certain events to occur , some can even be felt physically , such as pubescent nocturnal emissions experienced by young boys. Also, the concept of "periodic limb movement disorder" and "restless leg syndrome" are caused by a physical response to dreams.

--Controlling dreams--
Now what I would personally want to know is "can you control your dreams consciously?" . It would be rather bothersome if someone actually knew they were dreaming, but hen you realize you are dreaming, which none of us ever do, then you can do whatever you want in your dreams.
So lets say you are being murdered in your dreams, you could simply pull out a flame thrower and pwn your attacker, making him into crispy chicken, or whatever you want.
The possibilities are actually unlimited, basically, if you can think and imagine with a clear conscious while sleeping, you could have the time of your life , and you wont be wasting a single night! Just imagine, actually looking forward to sleeping. You could be a king in your dreams, or an astronaut, or a homeless guy! The possibilities are endless!
If any of you can master this, post your stories below!
