Pig lifting

In the Hanan province of China , there is always a community celebration called "the Hercules festival" where bodybuilding men show off to the rest of the town. Surprisingly, the most common of these "showoff" competitions is pig luggage lifting. The methodology behind this sport is simply attaching handles to the pigs, [the pigs] weighing various amounts up to 200 lbs.  The men then contest whom can lift two 200 lbs pigs in both hands. The winners get bragging rights, but it's  one heck of an innovative sport! Starting your own website for free

We will go over a nice option for you if you are new to the whole "website making" arena. In fact, we will guide you through the process in three different steps. Servers Step 1)  Get yourself a domain!  Getting yourself a domain is pretty easy, try any website , usually most domains will cost 14$(US) per year to uphold, although there are free alternatives, the free alternatives are usually overrun by spammers, resulting in exclusion from search engine results (especially google). Our personal favorite is hosting24 , but again there are many free alternatives, just don't expect them to get much traffic from google.Step 2) Setting up your hosting !This can be the tricky part, ask yourself "Do I want to start out small?" Your answer will usually be "yes". Even YouTube started out as a small website hosted on a remote server. Our personal suggestion would be 000webhost.com , they...

Ammonite

The ammonite is an odd creature, it looks quite archaic to be honest and that's because it is extinct. The ammonite was quite literally a squid with a shell. It was indeed carnivorous, it's closest living ancestor is the squid. Ammonite Ammonites died out hundreds of years ago, under unknown circumstances, but they are perhaps the most common fossils people tend to find. So, if you ever find an ammonite fossil, don't be too proud, they are pretty much worthless :)Back in the day, when more primitive people found the ammonite , they assumed it was a coiled up snake, turned to stone. People usually thought such things were cursed, and associated possessors with witchcraft.Nevertheless, some of these things were the size of great white sharks, and they were strictly carnivorous, so we should be glad they are not around anymore :) Imagine being grappled by one's tentacles, and eaten, not even...

Medical studies prove that anti psyhcotics do not work

Hello dear reader, I will switch from my usual writings of interesting, and informative things to simply reflect on a medical study I read recently. This study blatantly stated that patients suffering from psychosis, depression or abnormal  (minor) mental illness should never begin such drugs. The study was conducted by 13 separate research facilities in Canada and Northern United States.  As stated, the people used as test subjects "consented to being experimented upon" for a price of "free" "as is usually the case in Canada".Among the subject, you must note that 85% were women suffering from minor depression. This was agreed upon by the researchers following a study on lab mice, proving the drugs had no visible affect on the male mouse. As such the person (s) chosen to be the "lab mice" were put on these brand new anti psychotics and did as follows:2% experienced positive affects44% experienced nothing49% experienced negative affects (nausea...

Why iphone 4s users should stick to ios5

Google released ios 6 early today, free from the app store. But, unfortunately, they took out one of the greatest things know to all the prior ios' : Google maps. They replaced it with some sort of (visually beautiful) crap that serves no useful purpose. Not only is it inferior to Google maps in functionality, but it's worse than just using your gps, like seriously it sucks! The new maps app is not complete garbage, but it cant find simple locations, fails at finding out where you are, doesn't have the compass type walking thing Google maps does, and worst of all, does not have transit options.Did I mention it barely understand the concept of anchor and direction. So be warned: Don't get ios 6 until this is addressed! Apple Maps Sucks

Alligator Gar

The alligator gar is one of the largest fresh water fish found in the lakes of the continental North America. The alligator gar receives the name "alligator" because it's frontal 'beak" is shaped like an alligator's mouth. Alligator GarThe alligator gar can grow to be an astonishing 365 pounds(165.56 kg) . The Alligator's main food supply comes from algae and other passive plant-life. But the Alligator Gar is indeed carnivorous, so it will stalk and kill almost anything that lives in the rivers of North America. From stingrays to small alligators, nothing is safe.Men have claimed to be bitten by alligator gars , this has never been proven, but it's an interesting thing to keep in mind the next time you go skinny dipping in the Mississippi, it might just bight off your crowned jewels :) 10 foot long alligator gar

PhoenixSearch update

As we have stated earlier, our beloved PhoenixSearch malfunctioned a few months ago, so we switched to a "custom Google" search type thing. Not only is this less power intensive on us, but the familiar layout might be more beneficial to you. Now, we recently modified it, you can now click to the top left corner of the PhoenixSearch module, on whether you want a "localized search" Or an "inter-web search"All you have to do is look to the top left, and click either "Search: The Order Of The Iron Phoenix" Or "Search: The Entire World"

Your guide to choosing the right type of grape

So in this portion of The Wine Portal (I think we meant to call it the grape portal) by The Order Of The Iron Phoenix, we will cover numerous types of grapes, what they require and how to start producing them. Remember, almost all grapes can do the same type of action, this does not mean that there are not certain types that do certain tasks better than others. Please note we will isolate this section to grapes common to North America and Western Europe.A general tip for planting any grape is to place a 2 meter pole above the vine the second you see it beginning to sprout. Tie strings to the plant and pole as it grows taller or support it's weight, cut the strings when the stem becomes strong enough to support it's own weight. Still keep tying the branches to posts, making the post taller and taller, until...

Starting your own grape vine

When you initially decide that you either want fresh , sweet, plump grapes, or you want personally-produced wine, you are faced with a ridiculous situation: where do you start? Grape Vine  Well, we will take your hand step by step and then suggest some books if you would care to continue your research. Lets begin at the basics: You must first decide this: 1) Do I want one grape vine? 2) Do I want a grape vine farm? Like with anything else, grape growing has the potential to be very profitable. By very, we do mean that pretty much anyone can grow grapes and start selling them at a farmer's market, or maybe even negotiate a contract with a larger distributer, essentially making more profit. Some other things you can do with grapes:-non alcoholic grape cyder-grape jelly- raisins (although this is a tough niche to get into)-wine (we will go further...

Aardvark

An aardvark is an odd creature that few know about, but it is the first word in any English dictionary. So, allow us to tell you about this creature.Well, for one, its not an anteater, contrary to popular belief. It's closely related to pigs and wild boars genealogically. The aardvark's diet consists of mainly termites, roots and wildflowers. Indian power outage leaves 600 million powerless.

The power grid in the entire country recently collapsed rendering millions powerless, crippling train transportation, grocery store power, refrigerators, cold water, hot water and possibly everything else. Many people could possibly die as India is very poor and requires importing of most of It's food and water supplies. Thousands stay in line as the public transportation just stays on the rails, powerless. As of now, we have little word of the entire scenario other than that this is one of the worst disasters of 2012. More on this as the issue persists. We also wished we had coverage in someone that spoke better English ;)

The joker killer

James Holmes, an absolutely pitiful human being, came into a theater, wearing a gasmask , threw in some smoke bombs, and opened fire on innocent civilians.  He ended up killing 12 and injuring another 59. The sickening part is really that the schizophrenic sap thought he would be a joker copycat, he fantasized about being the villain and decide to prove himself. Pictures of his fantasies have been found in his apartment. 24 year old Holmes also had a journal which appears to depict him as an attention seeking , mentally ill child. Perhaps if someone found these earlier, 12 innocent people could have been saved. As for our opinion? We believe that a person of this mentality has proven himself to be unfit for a human rich environment, a death sentence appears to be the best solution for such a sickening, and cowardly child. Although we personally condone the death...

How the origin of the word "miracle" lies in pagan practice

Perhaps you are familiar with the word "miracle" in association with whatever religion you openly or secretly practice. But did you know that the word "miracle" which is nearly identical in all Romance and Teutonic tongues has it's roots in the ancient pagan worship of Zeus's loveliest son Hercules? Well, the origin of the word comes from a common Latin phrase "Me Hercule" which derives from an earlier Greek phrase, which at this moment is meaningless. It just translates to "my Hercules" so , you end up saying "my Hercules" every time god heals a man. And why? Because Hercules was indeed the miracle child in Greek mythology, forged by the gods, to save humanity from the paranormal. We would toast to that ;) POLLAIUOLO - Hercules Fights The Hydra In oils

Merchant vessel sunk off the coast of Saudi Arabia

Accordingly, yesterday a six-man boat was fired upon by the US navy sailing 12 miles south west off the coast of Saudi Arabia. The reason being that the boat (being a siple fishing boat with no technology) did not respond to warning signals, and thus was identified as hostile and sunk. All six persons on board succumb to their injuries and sink to the bottom of the sea.  As of today, we dont have live coverage or pictures, simply because it's an isolated incident involving military personnel. You can read more about Incidents related to this here: https://theorderoftheironphoenix.com/piracy  Sunken Iranian Vessel

The World's Largest House Cat

Have you ever wondered what the world's largest house-cat looks like? Have you ever wondered if something the size of a lion could make a good pet? Well, there is a species of cat christened the Savannah Cat. Savannah CatThis cat comes in at an impressive 5 feet from tail tip to nose. Its known to weigh up to 100 lbs, plays fetch and is great with other pets, children and even dogs. In essence, the cat is really more of a cheetah than a house cat, the only thing house-cat about it is It's adorable head and playful behavior. Researchers say that breeding housecats with wildcats results in a huge drive to be "naturally aggressive", this of course is a load of bull. The Savannah, as oppose to even most dogs, can be taught to walk on a leash , use a litter box, play fetch, swim (which they love) and...

Do you hate speaking with robots?

Ok, so this is going to all come from personal experiences. Yes, I'm going to write about my boring old life today, and although you may not care to read this, I want to make a VERY valid point. The scenario So, yesterday my cable box stopped working properly, I use Comcast due to my excessive like of movies. Anyways, I'm the type of person that NEVER has time to watch television. So, I really throw a solid 80$ out of my pocket every month (yeah it's pretty cheap for 999 channels I never watch).   And to my dismay, the cable box was not working. And so, this being the first time in months I had to watch television, I naturally decided "heck, why not call the support team , after all I pay them right?" . So I picked up the good old cell, found Comcast's number and gave them...

Another cannibal attack rocks the world

July 1, 2012, south east china: a crazed bus driver high of drugs and alcohol is said to have come across a youth driving a car , beat the car with a stick until the youth attempted to flee , and pounced on her, devouring her face, as she screamed for help. This is a very eerie scenario following the recent cannibal attacks in the western and mid-north united states. Perhaps it was not bath salts after all, perhaps something far more devious is solely responsible for recent cannibal attacks. The woman whom had been attacked and mauled should be ok , save the fact that reconstruction surgery will be necessary to make her look human again. The bus driver on the other hand will probably be put to death in accordance with Chinese law. The reason behind this attack seems to be alcohol (not that this has ever happened). To...
